Seeta Peña Gangadharan, Open Technology Initiative
As a research fellow for the Open Technology Initiative at the New America Foundation, Seeta Peña Gangadharan focuses on the impacts and outcomes of broadband stimulus funded initiatives across the country. Her prior work draws from theories of deliberative democracy and media justice to examine the intersections between civil society, telecommunications policies, and communication practices. Her work has appeared in the Journal of Communication Inquiry and New Media & Society, and she has co-edited two books, Online Deliberation: Design, Research, and Practice and Alternatives on Media Content, Journalism and Regulation. She has also consulted with Public Knowledge, Media Alliance, Center for International Media Action, and the Institute for Public Policy Research.
