Bio

Michael Pettinger holds a PhD in Comparative Literature from the University of Washington, specializing in patristic and medieval literature. He currently teaches courses on medieval literary and religious cultures, as well as the relationship between science and religion, at Eugene Lang College/The New School. He is part of “Stem Cells Across the Curriculum,” an interdisciplinary team of scholars and educators developing curriculum to teach scientific, social, legal, ethical, and religious issues surrounding human stem cell research. He is conducting research on the intersection of sexuality and theology in late antiquity and contemporary Catholicism.
