Joseph Heathcott is an Associate Professor of Urban Studies at the New School, where he teaches in the School for Public Engagement and Parsons School of Design. His work has appeared in a wide range of journals, books, magazines, reports, newspapers, DIY 'zines, and exhibitions. He has been awarded grants and fellowships from Fulbright, the American Council of Learned Societies, Mellon Foundation, the Erasmus Institute, and the Brown Center for the Humanities. Prof. Heathcott has been invited to lecture, consult, and judge studio reviews in a around the U.S. and internationally, and he currently serves on the boards of the Center for Urban Pedagogy and the Society for American City and Regional Planning History. During the 2010-2011 academic year he was the U.S. Fulbright Distinguished Chair for the United Kingdom at the University of the Arts in London, and a Senior Visiting Fellow at the London School of Economics.
