Janna Anderson, associate professor at Elon University and director of the Imagining the Internet Center – http://www.imaginingtheinternet.org– is the lead author of the Pew Internet & American Life Project “Future of the Internet” surveys, illuminating people’s hopes and fears about the possible, probable and preferred future evolution of the Internet. The fifth survey is now being fielded. It includes questions on the evolving impact of ICTs on higher education by 2020; teens, technology and human potential by 2020; the influence of gamification; apps vs. the Web and which will dominate; the influence of Big Data; the fate of “smart systems”; the future of money; and the influence of corporate responsibility on our future. Anderson is the author of “Imagining the Internet: Personalities, Predictions, Perspectives,” Rowman & Littlefield, named an American Library Association CHOICE Outstanding Academic Title, and lead co-author of the “Future of the Internet” book series, published by Cambria Press.
